Got 5 minutes and a blender? That's all it takes to whip up this delicious Blueberry Vinaigrette Dressing! It's healthy, fresh, sweet, and tangy- much better than the bottled stuff!

It's peak blueberry season and a great time to try out this blueberry vinaigrette! Blueberries are available year-round, but I find they are much sweeter during peak season.

Peak season depends on where you are, but for North America, it's mid-June to mid-August. So you can bet my house is full of blueberries!

I use blueberries in all sorts of recipes, but I'd have to say that this vinaigrette is one of my favorites. It's so easy to make, and I'll bet you have most of the ingredients already in your cupboard.

    Ingredients

For this blueberry vinaigrette, you will need blueberries, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, salt, pepper, and a little water. Be sure to use a balsamic vinegar that you enjoy, as it's a significant flavor component of the recipe. I use a slightly sweet balsamic vinegar, and it turns out great. If you don't have maple syrup, you can use honey, sugar, or stevia.

    Instructions

This dressing is a cinch to make, as most vinaigrette recipes are. A basic vinaigrette is made by mixing oil with something acidic, such as vinegar or lemon juice. Then you can add salt, herbs, and spices to make it your own. I've experimented with many different types of vinegar and herb/spices, although this blueberry vinaigrette is one of my favorites! Another favorite is this Maple Dijon Vinaigrette. It's made in a blender too.

I love to serve this dressing with a savory salad, although I'm sure it would be great drizzled over a fruit salad.

This vinaigrette recipe is so perfect for me. I have a blueberry bush and when I pick the berries, I usually can get 1 cup each time so I can use 1/2 cup for the vinaigrette and 1/2 cup in the salad. And, the color is amazing.
