Got 5 minutes and a blender? That’s all it takes to whip up this delicious Blueberry Vinaigrette Dressing! It’s fresh, sweet, and tangy- so much better than the bottled stuff!

It’s peak blueberry season right now and a great time to try out this blueberry vinaigrette! Blueberries are available year round, but I find they are much sweeter during peak season. Peak season depends on where you are and for North America, it’s mid-June to mid- August. So you can bet my house is full of blueberries during the summer months- my kids love them!

I got the idea for this dressing when I realized that maybe we had bought too many blueberries- hmm what do I want to create today? It just so happened that roasted vegetable salad was on the menu for that evening and I thought blueberry dressing would be perfect. I mean, I’ve had strawberry vinaigrette, so why not blueberry? Well, It turned out great, so much so that I’ve enjoyed it 3 says in a row!

This blueberry vinaigrette is a cinch to make, as most vinaigrette recipes are. A basic vinaigrette is made by mixing oil with something acidic, such as vinegar or lemon juice. Then you can add salt, herbs, and spices to make it your own. I’ve experimented with many different types of vinegar and herb/spices, although this blueberry vinaigrette is one of my favorites!

Blueberry Vinaigrette Ingredients

For this blueberry vinaigrette you will need blueberries, extra virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rice vinegar, maple syrup, salt, pepper, and a little water. Be sure to use a balsamic vinegar that you enjoy, as it’s a big flavor component of the recipe. I use a slightly sweet balsamic vinegar and turns out great. If you don’t have maple syrup you could use honey, sugar, stevia.

How to make Blueberry Vinaigrette

Like I said, Blueberry Vinaigrette is so easy to make! You simply add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. I use a high-speed blender, but I’m sure any blender would work. After blending, pour into a serving container and you can enjoy it right away. Although, it tastes better after about an hour or so, as the flavors have had time to meld.

I love to serve this dressing with a savory salad, although I’m sure it would be great drizzled over a fruit salad. I hope you try this recipe and I would love to hear what kind of salad you serve it with!

  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1/2 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper


  • Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into a serving container and enjoy right away or refrigerate for later.

Store blueberry vinaigrette in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
