Have you ever wished for glowing skin or stronger nails? If you said yes, this is the dessert for you! This chocolate protein mousse with collagen is super creamy and rich, and it requires only a few ingredients and a high-speed blender.
I love chocolate mousse or chocolate anything for that matter. But what sets this chocolate mousse apart is that it's good for you. The base is made from silken tofu, which is full of protein, but the true star of this recipe is chocolate collagen powder.
Collagen is a protein responsible for maintaining healthy joints, skin, hair, and nails. But as we age, our collagen breaks down, so that's why supplements are so valuable. The collagen powder I use for this recipe is the Beauty and Gut Collagen in the chocolate flavor from Mind Body Green. Although there are plenty of different brands on the market, use any type you prefer.
If you are worried about the taste, you don't taste the collagen at all. The Beauty and Gut Collagen includes organic cocoa and is sweetened with monk fruit- it's delicious! Plus, I really like this particular brand because it's sourced from grass-fed, pasture-raised cows and is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants.
So once you have your collagen powder, you only need a few more simple ingredients for this rich and decadent dessert. Even better, it's super fast and made in a high-speed blender.
So what do you need?

Ingredients
For chocolate protein mousse, you will need the following ingredients:
- Silken Tofu- I used organic silken tofu, which you can find in the refrigerated section of most supermarkets. The shelf-stable variety works if that's what you have on hand.
- Chocolate Collagen- I use Beauty and Gut Collagen from Mind Body Green. I love their collagen because it's sourced from grass-fed cows, and it's packed with vitamins and antioxidants. I use it all the time for recipes and smoothies, and it tastes great. Plus, it's sweetened with monk fruit and has zero sugar. But feel free to use any type of chocolate collagen powder you prefer for this recipe.
- Dark Chocolate Chips- I used 72% cocoa dark chocolate baking chips. Lighter chocolate chips will work too, if that's what you prefer.
- Vanilla Extract- Pure vanilla extract is best, but imitation works as well.
- Salt- Don't forget the salt. It really enhances the flavor of the mousse.
- Stevia- I add two packets of stevia in the raw, but that's totally optional. I suggest you taste it after everything is blended and add stevia (or sweetener of choice) if you want it a bit sweeter. Please note that it will taste slightly different (and better) after it's refrigerated.
How to make chocolate protein mousse
As I said, this recipe is so easy. The full instructions are in the recipe box below.
You will need a high-speed blender and a microwave for this recipe. If you don't have a microwave, you can melt the chocolate on the stove using a double boiler. Or you can simply place the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl and place the bowl over a saucepan filled with 2 inches of water. Bring the water to a simmer and stir the chocolate until it's melted. Then proceed with the recipe.
